Cuisine and gastronomy of Nice
All the flavors of the Mediterranean and much more can be found in the cuisine of Nice, where many local recipes have become famous. Socca, a kind of pancake made with chickpea flour, pissaladière with onions and little olives from Nice, chard pie, farcis niçois, zucchini flower fritters, salade niçoise and ravioli à la daube are just a few examples.
The pleasure of good food is everywhere in Nice, and from local bistros to Michelin-starred restaurants, there's something to suit every budget.
Over the years, we have selected a number of restaurants and shops which we particularly recommend.
Don't miss a visit to the Bellet CastleThe vineyards of the Nice hills, covering some 50 hectares, produce voluptuous reds, elegant rosés and flinty whites.
